Atresmedia incorporates Grass Valley technology in its new HD studio
Solutions such as Karrera, K-Frame and K2 Dyno will allow the Spanish group to improve its workflow and increase its capacity for airborne production.
Atresmedia finalizes a new high-definition studio, equipping it with several Grass Valley such as a Karrerac production mixer with K-Frame technology, as well as a Replay K2 Dyno instant replay system.
These solutions will allow Atresmedia to double its on-air production capacity and make its current workflow more consistent and smooth. The network hopes that its new television studio can be fully operational in April 2014.
Raúl Lorenzo, director of broadcast engineering at Atresmedia, highlighted that "the design concept of our new studio is based on an architecture of centralized production resources, such as studio cameras, video servers, graphics, mixers and digital video effects (DVE). We prepared a list to select a solution based on quality and reliability as the most important factors. A few months ago, Grass Valley lent us a Karrera mixer, and we were very satisfied with its ease of use, features such as its intuitive control panel and the side panel with touch screen.”
The Karrera mixer with K-Frame technology is based on a modular approach with an easy-to-learn and intuitive control panel, a side interface with a touch screen, full support for 3G 1080p50/60 HD and notable energy savings compared to other mixers in its category.
Karrera will allow Atresmedia to achieve greater flexibility in the production and management of the group's different channels. Features such as internal memory for storage and playback of video clips or the M/E multi-previous function promise to speed up production processes.
Atresmedia will also incorporate the K2 Dyno instant replay system, which provides a complete set of replay tools with full integration into different non-linear file-based production environments. K2 Dyno offers a familiar, agile workflow, with the ability to work collaboratively with other members of Grass Valley's K2 family.
