Once the Internet voting process has concluded, in which more than 5,000 readers of Panorama Audiovisual have participated, the three finalists who pass the first cut will be submitted to the verdict of a jury, made up of eleven independent professionals of recognized solvency, who in a secret vote before a Notary will choose each of the winners.

I PANORAMA AWARDS

The finalists of the I edition of the Panorama Awards They already have their own name. Over the course of a month, a total of 5,213 Panorama Audiovisual readers have voted in these awards for excellence in technological development and innovation of companies, professionals and productions in television, film, radio and advertising.

Panorama Audiovisual, a reference publication for audiovisual professionals, with the aim of promoting technological innovation in the audiovisual sector, has announced these awards that aim to energize the sector by promoting organizations to make better use of technology to be competitive, as well as recognizing the most innovative projects and productions.

The thirteen categories of these awards recognize equipment and technological solutions, installations and projects, as well as the technical execution of television and radio programs, film productions and spots.

Companies and facilities

As company of the year, Panorama readers have nominated Miranda, now integrated into the Belden Group along with Grass Valley (under the latter's brand); Quantel, for its forty years as a reference in broadcast and film production; and Riedel, for the role its intercom, networking and transmission systems played in the Red Bull Stratos stratospheric jump.

Regarding the installation of the year, the projects that make the first cut are: beIN Sports France, project and integration of the Unitecnic engineering department; the new set and graphics automation for TV3 news (Televisió de Catalunya); and the new headquarters of the EFE Agency, a project and voluntary direction of Delatorre.

Technological solutions

In the categories intended to award equipment, the Blackmagic Production Camera 4K camera, and the PXW-Z100 (Sony) and AJ-PX270 (Panasonic) camcorders are finalists in capture.

As the best technology in media storage and management, two Spanish companies, Tedial and VSN with their Media Amigo and Spider developments, respectively, will compete for the award along with the Belgian EVS and its XT3 4K server.

For study, the technologies chosen by readers are the ConeXia matrix developed by AEQ and Kroma, the new solution for zooming on 4K images TruZoom (AJA) and Roland's 'all-in-one' multi-format A/V mixer.

In the category of best technology in broadcasting and distribution, Panorama Audiovisual readers have opted for Videoscape, Cisco's global television platform; EVS C-Cast technology; and the LU500 mobile network link developed by LiveU.

As the best solution for post-production, the finalists are Media Composer 7 (Avid), Pablo Rio (Quantel) and Mistika v7 from Sgo.

For graphic creation, readers have opted for 4Designer (Orad), Aston 3D (Brainstorm) and Xpression (Ross Video).

In audio equipment or solution for studio, editing, live or PA, the finalists for these 1st Panorama Awards are Nuage (Yamaha-Steinberg), Xirium (Neutrik) and S3L (Avid).

Technical executions

In the section dedicated to the best technical executions in radio, television, cinema and advertising, these are the productions that make the first cut. In radio production: Millennium 3 (Cadena SER), directed by Iker Jiménez with Guillermo León, Noel Calero, Yeray Martínez and Coque Peinado in the technical production; Herrera on the Wave (Onda Cero), directed by Carlos Herrera with José Angel Belda and Eduardo Ruiz Milla in the technical production; and It's not just any day (RNE), directed by Pepa Fernández, with Salomón Redón in the production.

In television production, the talent show enters the final stretch The Voice, directed by Marisol Navarro and produced by Boomerang TV; the series The time between seams (Antena 3), directed by Ignacio Mercero, Iñaki peñafiel and Norberto L. Amado and produced by Boomerang Tv; and the broadcast of the Barcelona 2013 World Swimming Championships (TVE and Teledeporte), directed by Manuel Ventero and Javier Grima, in charge of the technical operation, and produced by Televisión Española.

As far as film production is concerned, three impeccable technical works have emerged as finalists: The witches of Zugarramurdi, directed by Álex de la Iglesia and produced by Enrique Cerezo, La Ferme Production and Arte France Cinema; Guadalquivir, directed by Joaquín Gutiérrez Acha and produced by Bitis and Wanda Visión; and The Last Days, directed by Álex Pastor and David Pastor, and produced by Antena 3 Films, El Monje, Les Films du Lendemain, Morena Films and Rebelión Terrestre.

Finally, in technical execution in advertising production, the spots will compete for the Panorama Award. You can't imagine what's in a drop of KH7 (KH7), Future Solution LX (Shiseido) y 100 years (Freixenet)

Second phase and awards ceremony

Once the voting process by readers via the Internet has concluded, the three finalists in each category among the five nominees proposed by the publication's editorial team move on to a second phase. In it, a jury, made up of eleven independent professionals of recognized solvency and in a secret vote before a Notary, will choose each of the winners.

To preserve independence and transparency throughout the process, the members of the Jury and their verdict will only be announced on the night of the Panorama Awards.

The award ceremony will take place in the evening of next Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at Feria de Madrid (IFEMA), coinciding with the opening of the BIT Broadcast 2014 International Audiovisual Technology Exhibition.
