The new DynoZoom feature within K2 Dyno will allow you to perform real-time pan/zoom movements in 4K and HD.

Grass Valley K2 Dyno

Grass Valley has started a collaboration with AJA Video Systems which will allow 4K improvements to be introduced into its K2 Dyno replay system. Grass Valley has begun integrating Corvid Ultra hardware and TruScale upscaling technology into the K2 Dyno to enable HD pan and zoom from 4K images.

With DynoZoom functionality built into the K2 Dyno, available in all resolutions, Grass Valley customers will have greater workflow flexibility to create engaging replays and highlight highlights.

Corvid Ultra capture cards are part of AJA's family of video and audio I/O products and enable high bandwidth and high frame rates in workflows. They support both 2K and 4K, as well as high-quality upscaling capabilities for all resolutions through true 4K. With support for high frame rates (48p, 50p and 60p), 4K workflows and onboard debayering, Corvid Ultra cards deliver maximum performance for the most mission-critical applications.

Its TruScale scaling engine allows high-quality upscaling or downscaling of any type of frame from web video to 4K. On the other hand, TruScale technology allows you to change frames and pan the image in real time, always maintaining impeccable quality.

Nick Rashby, president of AJA Video Systems, highlighted that “by integrating our hardware systems, K2 Dyno can now deliver higher quality images so that replay operators can have more tools to produce more creative stories.”

Finally, note that Grass Valley already announced at NAB 2014 new functions for its Dyno system such as 6X ultra slow motion playout (from cameras including 4K pan / zoom support, 6X ultra slow motion playout (from cameras LDX XtremeSpeed and LDX Compact

K2 Dyno also includes the new algorithm for dynamic playback AnySpeed, which automatically ensures smooth playback during the transition of any speed from zero to 200 percent and in speed transitions in ultra slow motion and 6X playout. It also integrates with Grass Valley's latest high-speed cameras and the K2 Summit 3G Production client server, supporting higher resolutions and frame rates.
