Adobe announces the launch of the completely renewed Creative Cloud
Adobe releases fourteen new versions of CC desktop applications, including essential tools like Adobe Photoshop CC, Adobe Illustrator CC, Adobe Dreamweaver CC, and Adobe Premiere Pro CC. This 2014 release is Adobe's biggest software release since CS6
Adobe has given new impetus to innovation in Creative Cloud by announcing 14 new versions of CC desktop applications, including essential tools such as Adobe Photoshop CC, Adobe Illustrator CC, Adobe Dreamweaver CC and Adobe Premiere Pro CC.
This 2014 release is Adobe's largest software release since CS6, and also includes four new mobile apps, the immediate availability of creative hardware, updates to Creative Cloud services, and new offerings for business, education, and photography customers. Yesterday Adobe announced that there are now more than 2.3 million Creative Cloud subscribers, far exceeding the original forecasts revealed two years ago.
“Our move to Creative Cloud has given us greater insight into where we needed to innovate than ever before,” said David Wadhwani, senior vice president of digital media, Adobe. “We've taken bold steps with this milestone launch, accelerating the release of new features in industry-defining tools like Photoshop and InDesign, while introducing mobile apps that turn tablets into indispensable creative tools.”
This launch will be of great use to the creative sector that is changing at a rapid pace: three in four creatives believe that the sector has changed more in the last five years than in the previous 50 and around two-thirds believe that their role will change significantly in the next three years (see The New Creatives Report, survey of 1,000 American creatives, published June 16). Creatives cited new technologies as the main driving force behind the rapid change.
Mobile apps extend Creative Cloud workflows to desktops
Adobe, in its innovation aspect for mobile devices, has launched three new apps for the iPad: Adobe Sketch, Adobe Line and Adobe Photoshop Mix; and has begun marketing its new creative hardware called Adobe Ink, a new digital pen, and Adobe Slide, a new digital ruler (see separate press release). The mobile apps were developed using the new Adobe Creative software development kit (SDK) that leverages more than 30 years of Adobe innovation to make them available to mobile devices for the first time.
These new apps are professional quality but easy enough for anyone to use, similar to the recently released Lightroom mobile app for photographers and Adobe Voice, Adobe's new animated video app, which have also been updated in this release. These powerful, easy-to-use apps add significant mobile capabilities to Creative Cloud, integrate workflows with Creative Cloud desktop apps, and bring tablets into professional creative workflows for the first time.

New video app features include interactive text templates, and masking and motion tracking, new integrations that leverage the power of Adobe After Effects CC in Adobe Premiere Pro CC. Move quickly between projects with Premiere Pro's improved graphics performance; the new, precise keying effects in After Effects; the most flexible Direct Link color development in Adobe SpeedGrade CC; and the enhanced multitrack tools for working with audio in Adobe Audition CC.
Cross-app integration has been further improved to save time when working between Premiere Pro and After Effects or SpeedGrade.
anywhere
New CC desktop applications, mobile apps, and hardware instruments integrate seamlessly with each other through Creative Cloud services. This integration helps unleash the creative process by allowing users to access and manage everything that makes up their creative profile: their files, photos, fonts, colors, community and other assets and profiles, from anywhere they work. Today we also introduced the new Creative Cloud app for iPhone and iPad that allows users to access and manage their files, assets and more from their mobile devices.
