Autodesk Smoke 2015: powerful effects more accessible than ever

The latest version of Smoke unifies effects and editing like never before. Compatible with the new Mac Pro, it offers XML interoperability with Final Cut Pro X.

The latest version of Autodesk Smoke 2015 attempts to revolutionize your post-production workflow by now being compatible with the new Apple Mac Pro and offering, better than ever, XML interoperability with Apple Final Cut Pro X allowing you to build a powerful end-to-end professional video workflow.

Among other new features, Smoke now introduces Timeline FX, which offers powerful effects right where the user needs them. Timeline FX brings new effects tools, improved rendering performance, and the ability to rearrange effects without leaving the timeline. ConnectFX will change the way you approach visual effects during editing with a powerful node-based compositing environment accessible directly from the timeline.

On the other hand, Action is now available as a timeline effect, making it easier than ever to go beyond layer-based 2D effects. Additionally, a new 3D Tracker allows you to duplicate real-world camera movement for the perfect composition of elements. Smoke 2015 integrates real 3D geometry directly into composite materials with support for Alembic open exchange and Autodesk asset formats.
Smoke is now compatible with Blackmagic DeckLink cards and UltraStudio Thunderbolt video I/O devices, and has expanded support for AJA devices. Also noteworthy is that Smoke now works with native media formats immediately without conversion and includes support for files such as ProRes and other QuickTime formats, Avid DNxHD, Panasonic P2, Sony XDCAM, RAW, RAW 2K, SStP (MXF), and XAVC, OpenEXR Multi-part, REDCODE RAW and ARRIRAW.
