Sony will look to the future of the broadcast industry at IBC 2014
Built around representative collaborations and customized solutions, Sony's approach to this year's IBC exhibition and conference focuses on showcasing a range of technological milestones and innovations for the professional audiovisual sector.
From September 12 to 16 at the Elycium Hall of the RAI in Amsterdam Sony will feature a stand that will serve as a platform for a variety of innovative customer projects based on Sony products and services.
Sony will demonstrate how its latest advancements in 4K technology continue to meet the needs of content creators and bring together its extensive network of products, systems, services and expertise. All of this comes after a summer of broadcast successes that have redefined the boundaries of what is possible in terms of Ultra High Definition performance and viewing experience.
As part of the broadcast production of the 2014 FIFA World Cup tournament, Sony has collaborated with selected companies to offer three matches in 4K, including a quarter-final and the final itself, which were also broadcast live on digital cinema screens for the first time in Ultra High Definition. Other world milestones followed in 4K, such as the recording of the Liga BBVA final between FC Barcelona and Atlético de Madrid or the broadcast of the canonization of Popes John XXIII and John Paul II.
