Christie participates as a screening partner in the 59th edition of the Valladolid International Film Week (Seminci), one of the main international film festivals in Spain, which is held between October 18 and 25. As a Technical Partner, and together with its partner Sercine, Christie will provide its DLP Cinema digital projectors from the Christie Solaria Series for the projection of digital titles throughout the festival.

Jesús Díaz, technical director of Seminci, recognizes that "given the large volume of titles presented to the Festival on DCP support and in order to meet the increasingly growing demand by producers and distributors to send their films on this projection support, the need to digitize our theaters became imminent. We had already had the experience of working with Christie projectors in previous editions, which provided us with first-hand reference on their reliability, image quality and lighting performance."

The Calderón Theater, which is the main venue of the festival, is equipped with a Christie CP2220 projector, as well as the powerful Christie SKA-3D processor that offers 2D/3D image playback from virtually any content source.

The Carrión Theater, for its part, is equipped with a Christie CP2215, while a Christie CP2220 will be installed at the Miguel Delibes Cultural Center. All of these projectors will be equipped with Christie's integrated media block (IMB) system.

Finally, the Laboratory of the Arts (LAVA) uses a Christie Solaria One projector, which is the Christie projector model ideal for screens up to nine meters and which comes equipped with a lens, customized xenon lamp, integrated media block (IMB) system and easy-to-use SMS screen management software.

"Christie Solaria projectors provide high luminous performance, which allows greater use of the lamps, offering high projection quality throughout their life. We also highlight these projectors' image stability and the good behavior they have with the reproduction of subtitles. In addition, by incorporating the IMB, the operation of the equipment is significantly simplified. This greatly facilitates its handling for operators, with great advantages in the organization of playlists," says Jesús Díaz.

Marcos Fernández, Christie's Sales Director for Spain and Portugal, acknowledges that "it is a great privilege to see that our digital projectors play such a fundamental role in this key event for Spanish cinema. Our participation in the main film festivals is part of our commitment to the film industry and is proof of the trust that film professionals have in Christie."

For his part, Javier Jiménez, commercial director of Sercine, assures that "at Sercine we are very proud to have equipped the Seminci. It is one of the most prominent film festivals in Spain, and Christie's digital solutions."
