The sixteenth season of 'Cuéntame' is presented at the Grupo Ganga studios in Pinto, where fiction is usually recorded.

Tell me

Tell me how it happened returns this Thursday to La 1 de TVE. The protagonists will experience a 'start over', with Antonio dedicated to winning back Mercedes; they will receive new characters in their lives; and you will see others return who will revolutionize San Genaro, like Paquita and Nieves. A San Genaro that has been expanded with nearly 2,000 square meters of new sets in which they will experience a 1983 full of tension and changes.

The sixteenth season of Tell me It has been presented at the Grupo Ganga studios in Pinto, where fiction is usually recorded. The press conference was attended by the leading actors and the main people responsible for the project. José Ramón Díez, director of TVE, has highlighted that, after thirteen years, “it is the most awarded fiction in the history of TVE, with more than ninety national and international awards.”

Ignacio Gómez-Acebo, director of Strategy and Programming at TVE, has stated that it is "unprecedented that a series that tells the history of Spain has in turn become the history of Spain. It is also unprecedented that this group of actors have maintained their commitment to Tell me for so many years." Miguel Ángel Bernardeau, executive producer of the series, wanted to "live up to the effort made by TVE, the quality of last season and the current level of national fiction, of which we are very proud." Imanol Arias has described the new season as "a return to the origins. The basis is in a series that tries to be choral, to reflect many characters through irony and humor.” “It is an emotional year for everyone and for the Alcántaras as well. It is the return to normality, to that pure Tell me“added Ana Duato.

Tell meMore neighborhood, era and comedy

Comes back Tell me how it happened with the ingredients that have earned it the loyalty of viewers and recognition as the best Spanish series of all times. The last episode of the previous season was followed by more than 4.5 million viewers.

San Genaro grows and transforms with new characters and the return of others; the opening of new businesses; and the creation of a school and a small park. If something happens in 1983, something happens in San Genaro, a faithful mirror of Spanish life in the first year of the socialist government: the movement, municipal elections, industrial reconversion, terrorist violence; the impact of heroin in the neighborhoods, AIDS, citizen insecurity or robberies; weddings of the social chronicle such as those of Paquirri and Isabel Pantoja or Lolita and Furiase or famous concerts, such as that of Julio Iglesias at the Bernabéu... Nothing that happened in 1983 will leave the neighborhood unmoved.

'Tell me how it happened' recovers comedy, largely thanks to the San Genaro neighborhood, reinforced with important additions. Humor and irony return strongly to counteract the sorrows and dark side of the events of the 80s that pepper the plots.

The series will reflect, in 19 chapters, the new times, beginning in April 1983.

To truthfully recreate the different situations, the TVE audiovisual archive and the Alcántara insertion effects continue to be hallmarks.

Eduardo Ladrón de Guevara and Ignacio del Moral will continue this season at the helm of the script team, which this year has been joined by Bárbara Alpuente and Antonio Onetti, and in which Curro Royo, Jacobo Delgado, Carlos Molinero and Sonia Sánchez remain.

Tell me

New sets and more varied exteriors

The series team has built nearly two thousand square meters of new sets, which have given a different appearance to the San Genaro neighborhood. The result is a playground, the exterior of the Miguel Hernández public school, and a street (Doctor Roberto Cairo Avenue) where a travel agency, a toy store and the hair salon with which Nieves starts a new life have been located, among other businesses.

When the recording of the season has not yet reached its halfway point, more than a dozen natural sets have already been used, such as Café Gijón or a current cocktail bar converted into the Rockola concert hall. Tell me… He has also packed his bags several times to record in the provinces of Murcia, Segovia and Toledo.

Finally, it should be noted that viewers will be able to follow each episode live, comment on it on social networks, capture and share the best moments with +TVE and access additional information on their connected televisions thanks to the Red Button. All chapters will be available in A la Carte.
