The first multichannel automation system implemented by VSN in Brazil turns five years old
Three complete Master Control VSNMulticom automation systems were successfully implemented in 2010 at Rede Massa, an important station based in the city of Curitiba.
It is now five years since the launch of the first multi-channel automation system implemented by VSN in Brazil.
The project is based on the VSNMulticom application suite as a comprehensive broadcast management system. Currently, it controls Nexios HD servers (which replaced the existing Grass Valley K2s for ingest and broadcast), four master switchers, as well as a pair of Betacam VTRs and character generators.
The platform is comprised of two VSNMulticom REC Remote ingest control stations, two VSNMulticom Scheduler playlist creation stations, and four VSNMulticom Remote Rundowns remote monitoring stations, which control broadcasts from the SD air channel, HD air channel, and One Seg channel.
Hemos recomendado y recomendaremos a VSN”.
For his part, Mario Díaz, VSN Sales Director for LATAM, has indicated that "it was very important that in 2010 Rede Massa, after a complex selection process, opted for VSN to manage the broadcast of commercials for its three national coverage air channels. This was a key step in the consolidation of our company and its products in the Brazilian market, where we currently have important references for complete systems for News, Media Asset Management, Production Asset Management, Deep Archive, Master Automation and studies, Traffic-Scheduling and Graphic Generation among others.”
Rede Massa is one of the most important television stations in the Brazilian state of Paraná, with almost twelve million inhabitants, and has its headquarters in the capital, Curitiba. It consists of five affiliated stations in the state: TV Iguaçu (Curitiba), TV Tibagi (Apucarana and Maringá), TV Cidade (Londrina) and TV Naipi (Foz de Iguaçu) and, in August 2012, operations of the group's fifth station, TV Guará, in Ponta Grossa began. The Massa FM radio stations of Curitiba, Maringá, Londrina, Paranaguá, Cascavel and Campos Gerais are also part of the group.
