The sound of the sea and the fast-paced action in 'El Niño' convinced academics

Marc Orts, Oriol Tarragó and Sergio Bürmann post-produced in SDI Media with Dolby Atmos sound.

The winners of the Goya for Best Sound were Marc Orts, Oriol Tarragó and Sergio Bürmann for the fast-paced film The Child, by Daniel Monzón. The winners consider that any of the four nominated films could have obtained the award due to their quality.

When the director of The Child He called this team of professionals to be in charge of the sound of this production with water, shots and chases, all of them thought that "it was a huge challenge in which we knew we were going to suffer, but that the result could be impressive. We preferred something like that to the beast than half measures." They admit that the most difficult thing was the car chase.

The film is shot in SDI Media in Barcelona with sound Dolby Atmos. They were already working with a very similar 3D sound system called Imsound in the movie The Impossible. They also used this same system in Mother y The body and they consider that it is the future since “it gives a little more enjoyment to the viewer.”

In any case, the creators of the sound of The Child They acknowledge to Panorama Audiovisual that "the sound design for a film has to work both for a woman who watches it through her television with a speaker and for the one who hears it in a room with Dolby. The sound design is narrative. The rest are extras, it is more quality, more immersion."
