Javier Fesser: "when you are proud of your work, it is always profitable"

Mortadelo and Filemón against Jimmy el Cachondo achieved six nominations for the first time for an animated film. Finally it won the Goya for best film and best adapted screenplay.

The film's technical team Mortadelo and Filemón against Jimmy the horny, together with its director Javier Fesser, collected the Goya for best Animated Film in the 29th delivery of these awards. The production started with six Goya nominations, of which it has obtained two.

Javier Fesser acknowledged to Panorama Audiovisual that "it is true that we feel very proud to be part of a break in the system that considered that an animated film could only qualify for this category at the Goya awards. At the production level, this film was in the making for four years, in what Fesser has defined as "a great adventure since it was the first animated film we made and it had an incredible result thanks to the work of all the people at the Illion studios, where 150 people worked hard. We consider it a profitable work because when you are proud of your work, it is always profitable." Illion studios were also responsible for the successful production Planet 51.

The team is very satisfied with the good reviews the film has received, although they consider that the theatrical run has fallen a little short. However, "now begins an international journey that we hope will be important. In addition, it is a film that does not expire so it may have a great future ahead of it in theaters and DVD."

Mortadelo y Filemón is produced by Zeta Cinema (I want you, three meters above the sky) and Pendelton Movies (The Great Adventure of Mortadelo and Filemón, Camino).
