Paco de Lucía's children reveal their most intimate guitarist
'Paco de Lucía: the search', a work that the artist could not see completed due to his unexpected death, wins the Goya for best documentary feature.
The Goya for best Documentary went to Paco de Lucía: the search, a work that Paco de Lucía could not see finished due to his unexpected death. It is a piece that has brought the public and critics into agreement and that now receives the consideration of the Academy. His son, Curro Sánchez, director of the documentary, assured that the statuette will be placed next to the Goya that his father won.
As Curro Sánchez explains, “the project, filmed digitally, is made with cameras Canon 5D and the editing was done with Final Cut 7. We started it in our production company and, eventually, we edited in Seville with José Manuel García Moyano.”
Curro Sánchez has gone on to explain that "my brother and I have collaborated on the script. We did not have much room to develop the project, with its great musical and emotional charge, since we started from previously recorded material that guided us and conditioned the path. Above all, we were clear that our mission was for people to discover the true revolution that Paco de Lucía was, because he was who he was."
For his children, making this documentary was a debt to Paco and themselves because a character with the ability that Paco de Lucía had to reconcile the love, affection and respect of everyone, deserved that someone put the camera and the observing eye.
