Muriel De Lathouwer takes the reins of EVS
Member of the Board of Directors since 2013, De Lathouwer took over the management on an interim basis following the departure of Joop Janssen. Now, the company trusts this Nuclear Physics engineer to get back on track.
Following the departure of Joop Janssen from the management of EVS last October, as already announced Panorama, Muriel De Lathouwer assumed the interim management of the Belgian company. Now, the Board of Directors has appointed and decided that De Lathouwer will be the new general director and CEO.
Member of the Board of Directors since 2013 and chair of the Strategic Committee, Muriel De Lathouwer began her career as an IT Consultant at Accenture, before spending 7 years at McKinsey in Brussels (where she was associate director between 2006 and 2008, specializing in telecommunications, high technology and media). Between 2008 and 2009, she was Marketing Director of BASE (a subsidiary of KPN for mobile telephony). She later co-founded an energy and environmental engineering consulting firm.
The new CEO has acknowledged that "since joining the EVS Board of Directors in 2013, I have had the opportunity to appreciate the unparalleled quality and reliability of EVS solutions, as well as the company's strong innovative drive. The last four months have reinforced my understanding of the solid fundamentals of EVS: high professional competencies, a strong culture, the commitment of all staff to meet customer requirements and, above all, the passion of employees for what they do, striving every day in their work. "Today, I am very happy to be able to carry out, as general director, what has been started with the Board of Directors in recent months."
Pierre Rion, Chairman of the Board of Directors of EVS, highlighted that "this appointment is the result of a selection process that began in October last year. During this interim period, Muriel demonstrated that, in addition to the strategic competencies that we already knew from her role on the Board of Directors, she has all the necessary management skills to take EVS to new levels."
