ChyronHego offers graphic solutions for studio visualization and integration with databases at NAB

At its stand, new products stand out such as Vistacam, a complete solution for creating high-resolution graphics in panoramic format in real time.

ChyronHego, once its reorganization was completed due to the merger and the entry of Ventura Capital, comes to this NAB at “an excellent moment of growth both in Europe and Latin America,” as recognized by the company's directors.

At its stand, new products stand out such as Vistacam, a complete solution for creating high-resolution graphics in panoramic format in real time.

In Las Vegas, we can see a demonstration of VistaCam, on a giant cyclorama-like screen with front projection, as well as the new possibilities offered by the company's Lyric64 platform, now redesigned to support 64-bit implementations.

ChyronHego developed VistaCam in close collaboration with a broadcaster in the United Kingdom who deployed an impressive video wall for their special programs on the Premier League football. The broadcaster initially attempted to use three projectors on a panoramic backdrop behind the presenters where graphics and live video were offered from live stadiums. However, feeds from wide-angle high-definition cameras in the stadium appeared pixelated and out of focus when projected onto the studio wall. Starting from the technology developed by ChyronHego, CogEye, which allows high definition sources to be “stitched” together with panoramic video, the broadcaster finally opted for the VistaCam solution.

Using a rack installed in the field and transmitting four streams of HD video over a Gigabit Ethernet connection, VistaCam is able to stitch together the sources to create a very high resolution display, with almost 180 degrees of panoramic video. VistaCam software includes an intuitive graphical user interface for real-time color correction in the studio, and can also be easily integrated with the Lyric64 graphics creation system. This allows the system to deliver high-resolution video in virtually any size and dimension, an important capability for video walls that are often deployed in unusual widths and heights.

Studio Mediamarker

Also new to Las Vegas is Studio MediaMaker, a complete end-to-end solution for planning, producing and publishing content. Designed for small production companies or broadcasters, Studio MediaMaker automates all processes in a workflow in which it is also possible to add graphic elements or other third-party production resources.

Metacast Mediamaker

Studio Mediamaker is an easy-to-use solution that brings new efficiencies to operations without the need for specific control rooms or technicians; In fact, automation can easily be triggered by the news presenter himself. It works as a stand-alone system, and also offers tight integration with any MOS-based writing system. For streamlined graphics production, this solution includes ChyronHego's Camio package. This way, for example, networks that produce local editions of news and weather information can maintain their links to assets through Camio.

As for Metacast MediaMaker, it is the new proposal for professional weather graphics from ChyronHego. It offers robust rendering and playout capabilities with a set of pre-built templates that connect to multiple live weather data sources. Users can deploy Mediamaker Metacast templates to make constantly updated videos and deliver them live to ChyronHego BlueNet or Camio graphics workflow or an internal MAM.

Lyric64

Regarding the platform for the creation and playout of graphic elements, with more than 9,000 systems installed around the world, at NAB ChyronHego presents new functionalities such as point-and-click access to an external database using ChyronHego's Advanced Data Object technology. With this, Lyric64 users will be able to enrich on-air graphics with data from a multitude of sources, including ODBC, JSON, AP or any other in XML format from the Internet, simply by clicking and dragging from the Advanced Data Object window.

Paint

As a result of its collaboration with EVS, ChyronHego now has Paint in its solutions portfolio. This software works in three simple steps: the operator selects the moment of replay, adds one or more graphic tools that are placed on the playing field, and then rescues them. Graphics can be added live or prepared in advance for post-match analysis. The tool is simple and fully integrated into an LSM environment eliminating the need for a dedicated telestration operator to draw a freehand sketch over a video image in a live production. Paint allows an EVS LSM operator to simultaneously prepare a sequence for a second or third instant replay and add graphical tools to illustrate the action.

The software is fully customizable to match the graphic standards of each production and chromakey allows the operator to draw virtually on a pitch.
