Spanish Television provides most of the content on its schedule, made up of series and programs broadcast on TVE.

TVE-VIVE Agreement

The president of RTVE, José Antonio Sánchez, together with the president of the VIVE company, José Alberto Vizcarrondo, visited this Monday in Puerto Rico the facilities of the new television network, which began its free-to-air broadcasts on March 9 with a programming composed mainly of TVE programs.

The RTVE delegation has taken advantage of this official visit to ratify the strategic collaboration agreement that both companies have reached and that had already been signed in the visit made in September to the TVE facilities by José Vizcarrondo and Víctor Montilla, president and vice president of the Puerto Rican company, respectively.

Under this agreement, the RTVE Corporation, within the framework of the internationalization project that it is carrying out, undertakes to provide VIVE with most of the content that makes up the schedule of this new channel as Spaniards in the world, Commando Current Affairs, On the edge of the impossible, A country in the backpack, Tell me how it happened, Isabel, Loving in troubled times, The mysteries of Laura, Gran Reserva o Heirs.

RTVE, aware of its main assets (a common language and culture, the great recognition and appreciation of the TVE brand internationally, as well as the extraordinary quality of its products, especially fiction series), wanted to take advantage of the opportunity offered by this alliance with VIVE to be able to reach the American public free-to-air.

Likewise, given the high number of Puerto Ricans residing in the US, RTVE considers this agreement as a good possibility to access the US market.
