The jury, chaired by the president of Hispasat and made up of experts from the aerospace sector, will assess the technical solidity of the selected projects.

Hispasat has completed the first phase of selection of the candidate works for the Best Innovation Project Award for Telecommunications Satellites.

Of the 19 works that competed for the award, announced on the occasion of the company's 25th anniversary, the five that received the most votes from the jury members have been selected based on the usefulness and applicability of the innovation presented.

The works that have passed this first phase and are eligible for the Best Innovation Project Award for Hispasat Telecommunications Satellites have been:

  • Spacecraft Modular Thermal Platform, presented by A. Torres and D. Mishkinis, from Iberespacio Tecnología Aeroespacial.
  • R3SAT (Rapid deployment, Regional, Reconfigurable Satellite), presented by Thales Alenia Space and DAS Photonics.
  • Payload Control System, presented by Francisco Javier de Pablos, from GMV.
  • Optical temperature sensing by Bragg fiber and its applications in telecommunications satellites, presented by Ernesto García Pérez, from Airbus DS Crisa.
  • AFeNSat (Antenna Feeding Network for New Generation Satellite Communications), presented by Carlos Alberto Leal Sevillano, Jesús María Rebollar Machain, José Ramón Montejo Garai and Jorge Alfonso Ruiz Cruz.

In the second phase, which begins now, the jury will evaluate the technical solidity of these five works and will issue its final ruling in the month of May. The award ceremony will be held in June at the Hispasat headquarters and will be attended by the Minister of Industry, Energy and Tourism, José Manuel Soria.

El trabajo ganador recibirá una dotación económica de 12.000 euros y un diploma acreditativo. El finalista, por su parte, se llevará 5.000 euros y un diploma acreditativo.
