Amimon develops Connex, a latency-free HD video transmission solution designed for drones
This solution works in the 5 GHz band. with a 2×5 MIMO architecture and automatic channel selection to guarantee connectivity at all times without interference.
Aerogenix, a technology provider for industrial and professional drones, has introduced the new Connex wireless HD video link from Amimon for RPAS (drones). This advanced transmission solution makes it easy and affordable to provide virtually any drone with long-range Full HD transmission capabilities with zero latency.
The innovative Connex “plug-and-fly” offers unique video transmission technology. It works in the 5 GHz band with a 2×5 MIMO architecture and automatic channel selection to guarantee connectivity at all times (without interference from the R/C system and other 2.4 GHz radio links). A single Connex system supports multicasting of up to four simultaneous streams using optional units, maintaining an excellent high definition image. The equipment can transmit high definition video up to 1,000 meters to the ground unit and is capable of displaying telemetry information through its OSD. In addition, it allows the sending of control commands through an S-Bus protocol to the camera support.
The small, lightweight system includes all antennas, cables and connectors necessary for installation of the air unit and ground unit, allowing for quick plug and fly installation on a wide variety of unmanned systems.
