Bitmovin Observability

Bitmovin launches Bitmovin Observability, a new independent video data solution that offers real-time information about video playback.

This solution allows video providers to easily orchestrate video playback, provide proactive support to viewers, and gain new visibility of both the content as the reproduction of advertising.

Originally a feature of Bitmovin Analytics, Bitmovin Observability has now been released as a standalone solution. Unlike general-purpose monitoring platforms, it offers observability tailored to video playback. With its deep session-level knowledge, advanced error debugging, incidents with alerts and the monetization telemetry, the platform has been designed specifically for the real time monitoring, making it ideal for enterprise streaming services and high-profile events, such as sports events.

The new Bitmovin Observability solution is quick to implement, easy to use and features AI-based capabilities tailored to video data, as well as an MCP server that allows LLMs and AI agents to access data and tools. The advertising observability Integrated provides insights that streaming services can immediately use to improve ad performance and engagement. Furthermore, the solution also analyze playback data and assigns the service a playback score from 0 to 100 based on factors such as startup, smoothness, video quality, and session success. To improve their score, video providers can use Bitmovin's AI session interpreter to get clear insights and actionable recommendations to optimize performance and improve the viewer experience.

Stefan Lederer, CEO and co-founder of Bitmovin, comments: "While general-purpose observability products have a lot of value in enterprise IT, they are not designed for video. Bitmovin Observability is different because it is tailor-made for video streaming, providing the details needed to identify and resolve issues related to playback quality, advertising, or viewership. Real-time observability is also especially important for live event streaming, as monitoring global video playback is extremely difficult and service outages occur. directly affect income.”
