The main manufacturers create a quality seal that guarantees the quality of the equipment used in collective antennas
AMETIC warns of possible fraud due to the use of repaired material as new.
AMETIC, Multisector Association of Electronics, Information and Communication Technologies, Telecommunications and Digital Content Companies, has drawn the attention of property administrators and presidents of neighborhood communities to the possibility that they have been victims of fraud in the adaptation of their collective DTT facilities.
The technological employers' association has detected “re-adjustment practices” of used single-channel modules that are not covered by the original manufacturer's warranty, and at this point points out that the General Law for the Defense of Consumers and Users explains that “the marketing of a repaired product as new will constitute consumer fraud.”
If the fraud that AMETIC warns of exists, the community of neighbors could receive a declaration of origin of reimbursement of the subsidies, therefore having the obligation to return the aid received and the corresponding late payment interest.
In defense of consumers, AMETIC emphasizes that a single-channel amplifier is the best guarantee to allow coexistence between DTT signals and 4G telephony. However, a “re-adjustment” and “reuse” process outside the strict controls of the manufacturer may be enough to become a source of problems when 4G transmissions are launched.
For easy identification of guaranteed single-channel equipment, the main Spanish equipment manufacturers have registered a quality seal that guarantees the installation of the collective antenna.
