Spain, invited country at Annency-Mifa 2015
The wide variety of activities that encompasses “Focus on Spain” within the Annecy Festival and the Mafa market, value the importance of the Spanish animation industry.
The Annecy International Animation Festival (France) and its Mafa International Market (from June 19 to 19), will feature Spain this year as a guest country.
The Spanish animation industry will have its prominence within the Mafa market in which, Icex, in collaboration with Diboos and the International Animation Market, Video Games and New Media 3D Wire, will organize Territory Focus: Focus on Spain, a showcase for Spanish animation that will include a presentation panel dedicated to the sector and that will offer special visibility to development projects, as well as a wide stand and a complete consulting day before Annecy to help the Spanish participating companies.
There will also be many other activities thanks to the collaboration of several entities and companies that have coordinated 3D Wire.
Lightbox Animation Studios will sponsor the inauguration festival of the MAFA and, thanks to the Institute of Cinematography and Audiovisual Arts (Icaa), young animation talents will be present in Annecy.
Outstanding Spanish creators will participate in different meetings such as Guillermo García Carsí (creator of Pocoyo and of the poster of the Spanish presence in Annecy), Enrique Cat (Tadeo Jones), Sergio Pablos (creator of Crane, my villain favoredor Raúl García (co -director of The lost lynx and animator in The lion king or Aladdin).
This year's Spanish team includes the premiere in France from the feature films Mortadelo and Filemón against Jimmy the Cross (Javier Fesser, 2014), Extraordinary Tales (Raúl García, 2014. Coproducción Bélgica, España, Luxemburgo y EEUU), y Pos Eso (SAM, 2014), este último en competición, así como los cortometrajes Viaje a Pies de Khris Cembe, Zepo de César Díaz Meléndez y The Guardian de Alessandro Novelli.
También se presentarán dos proyectos españoles como son Street Driver de Rocío Álvarez y Mostros Afechantes de Carlos E. Smith Róvira y Marcelo Dematei, este último coproducción con Colombia.
El ciclo Del trazo al píxel. Más de cien años de animación española, produced by the Center for Contemporary Culture of Barcelona (CCCB) and Spanish Cultural Action (AC/E), will be one of the most important animation festival in the world in Annecy, and has meant a two -year research and recovery work of materials. The project has had the collaboration of the Filmoteca de Catalunya, the Spanish film library and Movierecord, among others. The program consists of more than 50 titles between short films, feature films and spots, which can be seen on the big screen of the festival, in addition to being compiled in a triple DVD-Catalog. An anthology of forgotten historical pieces and recent works in the centenary of the birth of animated cinema in our country.
El programa de animación española Del trazo al píxel. Más de cien años de animación española se estrenará en la 55 edición del Annecy y recorrerá los principales museos, cinematecas y festivales internacionales. Además, está previsto que llegue a Barcelona y Madrid este próximo otoño.
