'Chillida: the Deep is the Air': a journey through the creative process and the life of a unique and universal artist

Marmoka Films y Explora Films, con la colaboración de TVE y ETB y el apoyo del programa MEDIA y el Gobierno Vasco, acaba de iniciar el rodaje del documental Chillida: lo Profundo es el Aire. The project, which has the participation of the Eduardo Chillida-Pilar Belzune and Zabalaga-Leku Foundation, proposes a journey through the creative process and life of a unique and universal artist. A child of the Spanish post-war period, who dreamed of being a footballer and ended up becoming one of the most important and influential contemporary sculptors.
The documentary will immerse us in the life and creative process of one of the most universal sculptors of the 20th century, Eduardo Chillida, through his works in different parts of the world such as San Sebastián, Paris, Madrid, Colonia, Gijón, Frankfurt, Cuenca, Saint-Paul-de-Vence and Vitoria, among others. These works will be analyzed by art curators, experts and some of their closest collaborators. We will have the testimony of Chillida's family, who will help us understand the person behind the artist, and the creation process that this international artist went through.
Chillida: lo Profundo es el Aire It is directed by Juan Barrero, student of teachers such as Víctor Erice, Frederick Wiseman, Francis Ford Coppola and Peter Brook and assistant director of Viktor Kossakovski. His previous film, The Inner Jungle It has been premiered in the official section of the Viennale 2013, and among the awards received, the Nueva Olas award at the Seville European Film Festival stands out.
