The RTVE Symphony Orchestra records the soundtrack of the XVII Iris Awards of the Television Academy

The Iris Awards Ceremony of the Television Academy will be held on June 25 and will be broadcast by La 2 on TVE.

The RTVE Symphony Orchestra has recorded several musical pieces composed by Iván Palomares, Jesús Glück and Manuel García Baró. Under the baton of Iván Palomares, the Orchestra has performed the pieces for the delivery ceremony of the XVII Iris Awards of the Television Academy, awards that recognize the excellence of television programs and professionals in Spain.

Tras la grabación, Iván Palomares reconocía que para él es un lujo trabajar con la Orquesta de RTVE, a la que considera una de las mejores orquestas de España. Palomares ha compuesto cinco piezas originales que se podrán escuchar durante la entrega de los Premios de la Academia de Televisión. El maestro se ha inspirado en la música que se utiliza en las bandas sonoras del cine, series de televisión y programas de distintos formatos. Se trata de un homenaje a la música de la televisión en todas sus vertientes. También hay una concesión al jazz, en un arreglo del compositor Manuel García Baró.

Iván Palomares has also conducted the RTVE Orchestra, in the interpretation of the Academy anthem, music composed by Jesús Glück, author of several soundtracks for TVE films and series.

Glück was excited because it was the first time he heard his music performed by a symphony orchestra. The work has been the opening tune of the last seven editions of the Iris Awards. It was premiered with a four-hand piano, Jesús Glück and Emilio Aragón, in the tribute that the Academy offered to Emilio Aragón “Miliki” in Seville in June 2007.
