The Chico International Film Festival of the Canary Islands-Island of La Palma, better known as Festivalito, has risen from the ashes after a five-year break to celebrate its tenth edition from July 24 to 31 of this year.

Furthermore, in just one week since the registration period opened for La Palma Rueda, the extreme cinema section of the competition, almost a hundred participants have already registered through the form on their website, and we are only in June, when they will go to the Canary Island to shoot a short film in a week.

One of the festival's activities will be the filming of a short film with the island of La Palma as a backdrop. Participants will have to write, shoot and edit a story in one week with a motto that will be announced at the Festivalito opening ceremony. The works will be projected at the closing.

Regarding La Palma Rueda, the pioneering extreme film shooting section in the world, they also say that there is no prior selection process. The only requirement is to register and be faithful to the spirit of the Festivalito.

Although participation is free, the organization remembers that not everyone is prepared to participate in an Extreme Film Contest like La Palma Rueda. And that is why he offers a series of tips for those who decide to participate in the contest, among them "forget everything you have learned before arriving on the island, do not bring any prepared stories, and prepare yourself physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually."

La Palma Rueda has been created so that a single person can devise, shoot and edit their own short film with as little technical equipment as possible.
