The Academy Council has decided to recognize the solidarity work of this television project that has mobilized Catalan society for 23 years.

TV3's Marathon

The Council of the Academy of Television Sciences and Arts decided in its last meeting to grant a Special Regional Award to the solidarity project The Marathon of TV3 for being a unique television format that has mobilized the entire Catalan society for 23 years around two objectives: raising awareness and raising funds for biomedical research. In his career, The Marathon of TV3 has collected more than 142 million euros, thus placing it at the same level as the most prestigious international telethons.

TV3's MarathonThe Marathon of TV3 has become a reference for solidarity, dissemination, awareness and participation, crossing the classic borders of a television program with a duration of approximately 15 hours live, followed by more than 3 million people and which, in the last 5 years, has raised an average of 10.5 million euros in each edition.

The Academy Council is the highest decision-making body of the Institution in which the Board of Directors participates and is made up of representatives of generalist networks, regional channels, digital platforms and copyright management entities.

The award will be presented during the Ceremony of the XVII Iris Awards of the Television Academy that will be broadcast on RTVE's La 2 on June 25 from the Gran Casino Aranjuez. This day we will also find out who the winners are in the 20 categories that the academics vote on, secretly and before a notary.
