Countdown to the great cinema event in San Sebastián

'Regression', by Alejandro Amenábar, will open the 63rd edition of the San Sebastián Festival on September 18.

Preparations for the 63rd edition of the San Sebastián Festival, which will be held from September 18 to 26, are now entering their final stretch.

Actress Emily Watson will receive the Donostia Award in recognition of her career on September 25. Other notable actors will come to San Sebastián accompanying the films that will be presented at the Festival: Sienna Miller, Tom Hiddleston and Luke Evans (High Rise), Ellen Page (Freehold), Emily Blunt and Benicio del Toro (Sicario), Tim Roth (600 miles y Chronic), Louise Bourgoin (The White Knights) Karin Viard and Isabelle Carré (21 nights with Pattie), among others.

As usual, some of the most important filmmakers on the international scene will meet during the Festival. To name just a few, Pablo Agüero will be in San Sebastián (Eva doesn't sleep), Laurie Anderson (Heart of a Dog), Scott Cooper (Black Mass), Terence Davies (Sunset Song), Michel Franco (Chronic), Lucile Hadzihalilovic (Evolution), Hou Hsiao-Hsien (Nie yinniang / The Assassin), Charlie Kaufman y Duke Johnson (Anomalisa), Hirokazu Koreeda (Umimachi Diary / Our little sister), Joachim Lafosse (The White Knights), Pablo Larraín (The club), Jean-Marie and Arnaud Larrieu (21 nights with Pattie), George Miller (Mad Max: Fury Road / Mad max: Fury Road), Rufus Norris (London Road), Corneliu Porumboiu (The Treasure / The Treasure), Gabriel Ripstein (600 miles), Walter Salles (Jia Zhang-ke, um homem de Fenyang / Jia Zhangke, A Guy from Fenyang) Peter Sollett (Freehold), Pablo Trapero (The clan), Federico Veiroj (The apostate), Denis Villeneuve (Sicario) o Jia Zhangke (Shan he gu ren / Mountains May Depart).

Spanish cinema will also have a wide representation at the Festival this year. The dubbing cast of the Spanish version of Hotel Transilvania 2: Alaska, Clara Lago, Dani Martínez, Santiago Segura and Mario Vaquerizo.
