TV3, i2CAT and Cellnex Telecom offered multi-camera access during the Champions match FC Barcelona – Bayer Leverkusen
The initiative, accessible for televisions connected under the HbbTV 1.5 standard, is part of the European research project TV-Ring.
As a complement to the live broadcast of the Champions League match between FC Barcelona and Bayer Leverkusen this Tuesday, TV3 presented an experimental pilot that allowed the viewer to access other cameras independently of the conventional production.
The pilot also included the possibility of controlling the service through mobile phones or tablets, and that users could make their own creation from these second screens.
This experience has been available to all homes with televisions that meet the HbbTV 1.5 standard.
The development is part of a larger set of tests that are being carried out within the framework of the European research project TV-Ring, in which three Catalan partners participate: TV3, the i2CAT Foundation and the operator Cellnex Telecom.
This project is co-financed by the European Community through the CIP ICT PSP program, has a planned duration of thirty months and is led by the i2CAT Foundation, a research center for Internet technologies in Catalonia. Apart from the Catalan pilot, other partners carry out pilot projects in the land of Berlin-Brandenburg (Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg) and in Holland (Stichting Nederlandse Publieke Omroep).
