The Avid MediaCentral platform helps the Jordanian production company modernize its operations, overcome the challenges of working with 4K and distribute higher quality content.

Talal AwamlehThe Jordanian production company Arab Telemedia Group has adopted Avid Everywhere to improve operational efficiency, manage the challenges of working with 4K and quickly produce high volumes of audiovisual content within tight deadlines. The new end-to-end workflow, which is built on the Avid MediaCentral platform and includes Avid solutions, SGL y Spectra Logic, allows Arab Telemedia Group to improve its technical sector and radically increase profitability.

Arab Telemedia Group has been in operation for over 30 years, creating thousands of hours of original, high-quality television. In 2008, its original series Al Ijtiyah (The Invasion) won the first Emmy Award for a foreign soap opera.

Tom Cordiner, Vice President of International Sales at Avid, recognizes that "production companies like Arab Telemedia Group face increasingly intense competition and shrinking budgets, so it is crucial to implement advanced solutions that improve operational efficiency and increase production quality. Avid Everywhere allows Arab Telemedia Group to modernize its production process, integrate solutions from multiple vendors and provide the highest quality content, locally and globally."

Arab Telemedia Group produces a large amount of content, often under tight deadlines. In the past, fragmented technology workflows slowed project completion times and made it difficult to access and monetize archived content. They also need to start producing 4K content without drastically reducing their production infrastructure.

Talal Awamleh, CEO of Arab Telemedia, highlights that "we are the first production company in our region to position our workflow around 4K production and the Avid DNxHR codec, which allows us to quickly adapt to the evolving requirements of high-resolution audiovisual content. This is a great investment for a production house in this region, and ensures that we remain competitive for years to come."

To modernize and centralize its content production processes, Arab Telemedia Group implemented audiovisual content solutions from the Avid Media Suite, including the Interplay Production and Interplay Archive management systems, ingest control using Interplay Capture, and Avid MediaCentral UX, the cloud-based web interface for the Avid MediaCentral platform.

To archive massive volumes of 4K content, Arab Telemedia Group uses advanced content storage solutions from the Avid Storage Suite, including multiple Isis shared storage systems and AirSpeed servers. By opening up Avid Everywhere, collaborators across the organization can now quickly access and monetize the vast archive of valuable audiovisual content.

Media Composer, editing software with Avid Resolution Independence, gives Arab Telemedia's creative teams the ability to acquire, edit and distribute content in any format and resolution, including 4K and beyond. Media Composer's floating licensing system allows Arab Telemedia Group to easily share licenses within its entire network and scale workgroups on demand.

To archive new 4K productions, as well as a large number of older HD productions, Arab Telemedia chose a Spectra Logic T380 tape library that offers archiving capability and proven integration with Avid. SGL FlashNet fully integrates tape archiving into the Avid workflow, enabling cost-effective and efficient archiving of 4K projects. SGL's Storage Manager rules chassis provides highly sophisticated archiving at all times in a constantly changing production environment.

The new workflow provides Arab Telemedia Group with a secure, reliable and enhanced solution that allows them to easily ingest, edit and distribute high volumes of 4K prints.
