Belgian SiA opts for SAM mixers for its 'Multi Live' sports productions

Two Kahuna 9600 mixers together with Maverik control panels will allow Skynet to transmit up to 8 live signals simultaneously from different matches.

Skynet iMotion Activities (SiA), subsidiary of the Belgian corporation Proximus Group, has opted for the technology of SAM for the production of its multi-camera sports programs of several live matches.

Two Kahuna 9600 mixers together with Maverik control panels will allow Skynet to transmit up to 8 live signals simultaneously from different matches.

Viewers can follow all these signals on one screen, including the corresponding comments and analysis.

Sia produces more than 700 live programs annually, including all Belgian football matches. All its content is offered on the Proximus TV platform that offers digital television services through IPTV in Belgium. With the addition of Kahuna mixers, SiA produces in two languages ​​at the same time.

Christophe Anrys, Applications and Solutions Manager at SiA, points out that "live sport is a highly competitive market, so our programming has to be top-notch. We chose Kahuna because it has the tools we need to increase our productivity and production capabilities. With the purchase of two Kahunas with Maverik, we now have a total of 24 keys, all of which are used to create picture-in-picture (PiP). Kahuna also allows us to play clips directly with the sound, which means we don't need an external player. With Maverik control panels, we can design the panel to suit our specific needs, so we have quick and easy access through custom thumbnails. These creative options are exactly what we were looking for in a mixer, including the option to move towards IP in the future.
