The French production services group opts for Sony's HDC-2500 and HDC-4300 models to expand its fleet of broadcast cameras over the next four years.

Euro Media Group (EMG) has signed a four-year contract with Sony to standardize its fleet of broadcast cameras through a significant investment in the Sony HDC-2500 and HDC-4300 models. The contract provides for the acquisition of up to 350 units of these two models over the four-year duration of the contract, which will allow the broadcast solutions provider to go one step further in the recording of live productions in all its European subsidiaries.

Headquartered in France, Euro Media Group operates from seven European countries (Videohouse in Belgium, Euromedia, DVS and Netco in France, Nobeo in Germany, 3Zero2 in Italy, United in the Netherlands, Livetools in Switzerland and CTV, ACS and BRF in the United Kingdom) to offer its clients tailored solutions for the production and distribution of all types of multimedia content, from broadcast content to online material, for the entire production process.

EMG already has a long history of using Sony cameras, in particular the HDC-1500, predecessor of the HDC-2500, which has played an essential role in EMG productions over the past decade.

Euro Media Group expressed the need to update its technology to a solution that could offer high quality and creative functionalities for any type of production, as well as a common platform that would allow flexibility and efficiency. Sony won the public tender after an exhaustive process in which various broadcast camera companies participated. EMG cited the quality, reliability and technical capabilities of Sony's solutions, its innovative licensing model and the strong partnership forged over the last ten years, in which they have received service and support from the Sony team in different European countries, as main factors for the final decision.

Over the past few years, Euro Media Group has offered premium service offerings to production companies using the HDC-1500, so the HDC platform has remained an obvious choice. The HDC-2500 with 3G is a multi-format HD solution that represents a direct successor to EMG. The HDC-4300 is the world's first camera with three 2/3″ 4K image sensors; a single camera platform for HD, 4K and super slow motion recording. It is the next step towards excellence, offering new creative options and more flexible operations.

Today's productions require more accurate color reproduction, so the ability to capture images in the BT.2020 color space provides broadcasters with a valuable competitive advantage. The HDC-4300 allows Euro Media Group to adapt to previous and new product versions thanks to its seamless integration into existing HD workflows. In addition to providing future-proof features as standard, the HDC-4300 also offers EMG the ability to record in 4K/100p and HD/400p super slow motion, allowing the camera to be adapted to a variety of live productions. Having a solution that encompasses all of these creative capabilities helps Sony customers, like EMG, generate maximum profitability from production budgets of all sizes.

For his part, Norbert Paquet, head of strategic marketing for live production at Sony Professional Solutions Europe, maintains that "through a deep understanding of our customers' working environment, Sony has been able to become the world leader in the offering of studio cameras. We are very pleased to expand our collaboration with Euro Media Group over the next four years, together with each of its local subsidiaries. The HDC-2500 and HDC-4300 exceed the group's demands for greater flexibility and cutting-edge, future-proof technology on a reliable platform. The development of these cameras has been driven by our customers, our team uses their feedback to create platforms that adapt to the need for constant innovation and thus meet the demands of live production. Euro Media Group has chosen the most suitable camera platform as an essential element of its system camera infrastructure, allowing it to enhance its reputation as a leading service provider to production companies.
