Panorama Awards 2016: the die is cast

José Luis Gacal, Ricardo Medina, Sergi Ovide, Ángel Pacho, Jerónimo Retamal, José María Rosillo, Jorge de la Torre, Tote Trenas, María Valcarce, Ana Sanz and Antonio Castillo, make up the jury of the II Panorama Awards for excellence in the audiovisual industry.

The die is cast for the finalists for the 2016 Panorama Awards. Established by the reference publication for professionals in the sector, Panorama Audiovisual, these awards recognize the excellence of companies, professionals, solutions and productions.

After a first phase in which Panorama readers voted among five proposals for each of the thirteen categories, thus obtaining the shortlist of finalists, it has now been a jury made up of eleven relevant professionals from the sector who, in a secret vote, before the Illtre notary. Notarial College of Madrid, Javier de Lucas y Cadenas, have named each of the winners.

In this edition the jury was made up of José Luis Gacal, technical director Zeppelin Tv (Endemol Shine Iberia); Ricardo Medina, CEO of Medina Media; Sergi Ovide, CEO of Ovide; Ángel Pacho, Engineering and Maintenance manager at Telefónica (Movistar+); Jerónimo Retamal, CEO of Grupo Vitelsa; José María Rosillo, sound engineer and producer; Jorge de la Torre, CEO of Delatorre Consultoría and Abacanto; Tote Trenas, director of photography (AEC) on Cuéntame; María Valcarce, director of BIT Broadcast 2016; Ana Sanz, director of Digital AV Magazine and Antonio Castillo, director of Panorama Audiovisual.

After an intense dinner in which the members of the jury exchanged impressions about each of the candidates, already at dawn, the individual vote took place, secretly and before a Notary.

The experts have evaluated the relevant aspects of each of the applications that encompass companies, facilities, solutions for capture, storage, media management, graphics, studio, broadcast, audio, post-production, as well as technical execution in radio, television, cinematographic and advertising productions.

Without a doubt, the total transparency throughout the voting process as well as the recognized professional qualifications of the jury members have made these awards a clear reference for our industry.

Awards ceremony

We will have to wait to meet the winners until next May 24, at 7:15 p.m., during the award ceremony that will take place in the South Auditorium of Feria de Madrid (IFEMA) coinciding with the first day of the Professional Audiovisual Technology Exhibition (BIT Broadcast 2016).

Along with the thirteen awards up for grabs, during the ceremony the Panorama Lifetime Award will be presented to Chema Prado. This award recognizes Prado's firm commitment to the custody, recovery, research and conservation of cinematographic heritage at the head of the Spanish Film Archive over the last three decades.
