A total of 320 companies from the audiovisual sector showed their latest innovations and advances at Feria de Madrid. The programme of Technical Conferences, with nearly a thousand attendees, the presentations and workshops held in different stands, or the meeting of representatives of television stations from eleven Ibero-American countries, organised by TEib-ATEI, completed the contents of this edition.

With an attendance of 8,221 visitors and a positive assessment of results, as well as the high professional level recorded, the 17th edition of the BIT Broadcast, the Professional Audiovisual Technology Exhibition, which from 24 to 26 May, brought together in Hall 14 of Feria de Madrid, the news and advances of 320 companies

An edition of great dynamism and activity, both in the exhibition area and in the two auditoriums where the Technical Conferences were held simultaneously, with the participation of a hundred speakers in 27 sessions and round tables, which offered some of the keys to the future of the audiovisual industry, before nearly a thousand attendees.

The content of BIT was completed with an extensive program of presentations carried out by the participating companies at their stands, which allowed visitors to obtain detailed information on some of the most innovative proposals, attend demonstrations of virtual studies and augmented reality, or participate in training sessions on new technologies, Master Classes, Workshops and practical tutorials, among others.

BIT BROADCAST 2016: OTT and Hybrid TV ServicesBIT was also the venue for an important meeting of Ibero-American professionals from television channels from 11 countries and the public administrations that manage these television stations, who visited the Show to learn about the latest developments in the sector and participate in a Technological Consultancy session, organised in collaboration with TEIB – ATEI, within the framework of its Central America and the Caribbean Network initiative. in order to contribute to decision-making for the acquisition of technology and equipment.

In addition, this year BIT placed special emphasis on the sectoral avant-garde through initiatives such as BIT Innova, a gallery of novelties that, according to the criteria of a professional jury, highlighted 9 proposals from among all those submitted to this edition, or the R+D+BIT platform that, for the first time, brought together the best research talent through a selection of innovative projects developed, both in the university and business spheres.

BIT 2016Another novelty of this edition was the BIT Shooting Star Award, a contest of original mini short films for audiovisual communication students and endowed with 2,000 euros, which was for the work Ineffable presented by Jonatan Toucedo (Jonny Wolfmor), Iago Manoel Souto, Nicolás Pérez and Brais Sousa, students of the Degree in Audiovisual Communication of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Communication of the University of Vigo (Uvigo). BIT Shooting Star also awarded a Popularity Runner-up to the video with the most votes from the public on social media, which went to Aleksandra, presented by Izabela Rozborska – student of the higher degree in audiovisual projects at the IES Siglo XXI in Leganés, and Javier Alfonso Pérez, recently graduated in audiovisual projects and shows from the Los Salesianos Center in Atocha.

These awards, convened by the publication Panorama Audiovisual, have been consolidated as a recognition of the excellence, technological development and innovation of companies, professionals and productions in television, film, radio and advertising, and represent an outstanding tool to energize the sector by promoting that organizations make better use of technology to be competitive. as well as to recognize the most innovative projects and productions.
