The four new DTT channels added 1.6% of the share at their start
The audience ranking in May is led by Telecinco with 15.1% and Antena 3, with 13.4%.
Telecinco, with 15.1% share, once again leads the ranking of the most watched channels of the month in May, followed by Antena 3 (13.4%). Next we find, according to the monthly report of Barlovento Comunicación based on data from Kantar Media, La1 of Televisión Española with 10.2%, the regional ones (7.4%), LaSexta (6.9%), Cuatro (6.6%), FDF (3.1%), La2 (2.5%), Divinity (2.4%) and all pay television channels (7%).
As for the four new television offers, BeMadTv (0.5%), DKiss (0.5%), Ten (0.3%) and Real Madrid HD (0.3%) add up to 1.6% of the screen share.
The three large networks (La1, Telecinco and Antena 3) registered 38.7% of the share last month, three tenths above April.
The leadership by business groups is for Mediaset España, which reaches 30.7%, repeating the result compared to last month. Atresmedia obtained 27.0% (down five tenths) and CRTVE 17.0% (up five tenths).
Telecinco leads in the commercial target, women, individuals over 13 years old and housewives. For its part, Antena 3 is the favorite option for men. Telecinco leads the share every day of the week except Saturday where Antena 3 triumphs.
Unidad Editorial achieved 3.8% (down two tenths) while the Vocento group reached 2.6% (down one tenth).
The regional broadcasters as a whole average 7.4% screen share, one tenth less than last month. The Catalan TV3 (11.9%) is the leading channel in its broadcast area and the regional channel that achieves the highest screen share.
Television consumption in May stood at 231 minutes (5 minutes less than the previous month and in the same line as May 2015). As far as delayed consumption is concerned, it adds up to an average of 4 minutes.
Finally, in terms of distribution systems, DTT with 78.4% drops one tenth, while cable rises four tenths, standing at 10.9%. IPTV repeats its result compared to the previous month with 6.9%, while satellite drops one tenth to stand at 3.1%.
In this last month, more than five million tweets about television programs were registered, a figure higher than in previous months.
