Portugal will have four new DTT channels
The Portuguese Government plans to grant licenses to two public channels and two other private channels.
The Portuguese Minister of Culture, Luis Filipe Mendes Castro, has announced that the Portuguese Government intends to give the green light to the launch of four new DTT channels.
Currently in Portugal, five digital terrestrial channels are available: RTP1, RTP 2, SIC, TVI and Canal Parliament.
The Government now plans to grant licenses to two public channels and two other private channels.
Following the minister's announcement last week at the parliamentary headquarters, this week the BE, PEV, PCP and PS parties will present four proposals to Parliament in order to launch new tenders that add to the five current channels.
