Filming of '1898, the Last of the Philippines' comes to an end
Shot with ARRI, the production has taken place in natural environments in Guinea, Tenerife and Gran Canaria.
After nine weeks on locations in Guinea, Tenerife and Gran Canaria, filming for 1898, The Last of the Philippines concluded last Tuesday.
The film is directed by Salvador Calvo and stars Luis Tosar, Javier Gutiérrez, ÁLvaro Cervantes, Karra Elejalde, Carlos Hipólito, Ricardo Gómez, Patrick Criado, Miguel Herrán, Emilio Palacios and Eduard Fernández.
1898, the last of the Philippines, co-produced by Manila Producciones, ECPC and CIPI Cinematografía, has collaboration with TVE, 13 TV and ICAA and will be distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing Spain.
The film, shot with cameras ARRI, presents the story of the Spanish who at the end of the 19th century fought against the United States to defend the last colonies. Since 1898 the phrase that “the sun never sets in Spain” could no longer be repeated.
