AJA updates the Hi5-Fiber mini converter

Hi5-Fiber converts 3G-SDI signals over single-mode fiber optics to HDMI, with up to 8 channels of embedded audio.

AJA has announced that its update to its Hi5-Fiber mini-converter with 3G-SDI support for high frame rate is now on sale. AJA has also released the Mini-Config v2.17.0 control software, which adds support for the redesigned Hi5-Fiber, as well as offering improvements for Hi5-4K, Hi5-4K-Plus, LUT-box, ROI, ROI-DVI, ROI-HDMI, ROI-DP, and Hi5-3D mini-converters.

Hi5-Fiber converts 3G-SDI signals over single-mode fiber optics to HDMI, with up to 8 channels of embedded audio with support for an HDMI output. It includes support for up to 16 channels of SDI embedded audio input, a 2-channel RCA audio output, and a USB port for configuration and status reporting when using AJA Mini-Config software.

The small dimensions of the Hi5-Fiber allow it to easily fit on the back of a standard monitor, extending the range of an HDMI signal up to a maximum of ten kilometers from the source.
