Data Media integrates the new system of digitization, archiving and distribution of content in the Senate
The Spanish Senate has just launched a new system for digitizing, archiving and distributing content of recordings in parliamentary sessions and other activities of the Upper House. The project, which has allowed the entire capture system to date based on tape to be modernized, has been carried out Data Average.
From now on, all content will be immediately accessible, even during the recording of the events. In addition, the integrated solution offers the possibility of having the option of delivering these contents and incorporating the metadata from the Gelabert parliamentary cataloging system live, to further enrich the contents that are produced.
To achieve this objective, Data Media has turned to big brands such as Root6, Tedial, Panasas y Rohde & Schwarz.
On the one hand, two Rohde DVS Venice video servers have been installed, configured to ingest six SD/HD video signals as well as 2 outputs for playback. For storage as a high-performance cache and central system, the power and performance of ActiveStor 14 from Panasas was used with a storage configuration of 73TB and 1.5GB of bandwidth. Its scalability properties are notable, opening up possibilities for expansions in the future.
Content security is very important, therefore, both Activestor 14 and Venice are equipped with a raid 6 system on their disks. For the transcoding and delivery system, Root6 was chosen, which offers us quality, accessibility and security in its operations.
And finally, for content management, Tedial's experience has been trusted with the new Tarsys 5, which will also be in charge of receiving and managing data from the parliamentary cataloging system and deep archiving of the media in the LTO6 library. The entire system running on a Wmware platform guaranteeing greater flexibility and efficiency.
Data Media has thus managed to meet its objectives set in this project by providing integration solutions that are commensurate with the importance of the information produced in an entity such as the Senate.
