France Télévisions implements a Nimbra network in its overseas broadcasts

The French audiovisual group deploys Net Insight's Nimbra VA 220 medium transport solution to interconnect its production and broadcast centers in overseas territories.

France Télévisions Réseau Outre-Mer, the network of radio and television stations operating in France's overseas territories around the world, has deployed the Nimbra VA 220 medium transport solution from Net Insight.

This new distribution and media contribution network will connect France Télévisions' headquarters outside Paris with its overseas broadcasting centers including Martinique, Réunion, Saint Pierre and Miquelon, Guadeloupe and French Guiana.

Pascal Gerard, Director of France Télévisions Réseau Outre-Mer, said: "We can now consider a much broader range of live broadcasting services, often presented at very short notice, for our overseas territories where difficult connectivity, until now, has hindered numerous high-quality broadcast opportunities. Net Insight's solution significantly reduces our operating costs, while allowing us to maximize the availability of our services and fully reach our overseas territories."
