France Télévisions modernizes its newsroom with the OpenMedia CGI solution
France Televisions, the main French audiovisual group that brings together six national channels, 24 regional branches and nine branches abroad, has undertaken the modernization and standardization of its editorial tool, relying on the OpenMedia solution from CGI.
Planned for a period of four years, this contract is valued at more than 3.5 million euros and will provide France Télévisions with a common tool for all your newsrooms (television, radio and digital) in all territories.
The public group chose CGI and its reference solution OpenMedia, specially designed to allow media outlets to manage, plan and organize the production of their content.
Within the framework of this project, CGI is responsible for the complete deployment of the solution, from the organization of the specification workshops to the implementation and maintenance of the solution software.
The project is organized in two phases. In the first stage, the module will be integrated OpenMedia NewsBoard
Eque offers advanced and customizable functionalities for each journalist, such as quick and real-time access to all available resources on the topics to be discussed, simplified planning to organize the work of the newsroom and anticipate multimedia dissemination, as well as instant exchanges for better communication within the newsroom, regardless of its location.
In a second phase it will be integrated OpenMedia Infinity, a module that brings together search, programming, scripting and messaging functions, as well as specific features for structuring programs. This module allows you to prepare and ensure the dissemination of topics and programs.
Aimed at the group's 3,000 journalists, OpenMedia will allow France Télévisions to adapt to market standards and overcome internal evolutions, facilitate collaboration between its different entities and offer its journalists considerable time savings, efficiency and total visibility of the assigned tasks and their execution.
Romuald Rat, director of Reports and Information Resources, and Skander Ben Attia, Director of Engineering at France Télévisions, comment that "the implementation of a common tool for all our newsrooms is an important project that is part of the broader digital transformation strategy of France Télévisions. We have chosen CGI and its proven OpenMedia solution with the aim of optimizing our activities and enriching our media offering to continue offering the most qualitative information possible to our viewers, listeners and readers."
Anton Schlatter, vice president and head of OpenMedia at CGI, recognizes that "the deployment of OpenMédia will boost the operational excellence of the group's media and will further improve the collaboration of journalists in the different newsrooms. Our teams are fully mobilized to make this project a success together with France Télévisions."
