Russian MegaFon expands its OTT platform with Elemental

The second largest mobile phone and telecommunications operator by number of subscribers in Russia, offers its MegaFon.TV service on multiple platforms, including mobile, web and smart TV

The Russian telecommunications and mobile operator MegaFon is using the technology of Elemental to expand its OTT platform, MegaFon.Tv.

MegaFon, the second largest mobile and telecom operator by number of subscribers in Russia, offers its MegaFon.TV service on multiple platforms, including mobile, web and smart TV, and offers a combination of subscription and video on demand (VOD) solutions.

To ensure seamless delivery of its OTT service, MegaFon selected a suite of video processing and delivery solutions from Elemental. While Elemental Server provides efficient transcoding of video on demand (VOD) files and Elemental Live provides compression of streamed content.

Andrey Kushnarev, director of video streaming at MegaLabs, the development division of MegaFon, highlights that “with Elemental's solution, we have created a reliable and scalable OTT platform that allows us to seamlessly support the expectations of our expanding user base.”
