Almería municipal television renews its facilities

Interalmería modernizes its continuity, writing system, MAM, ingestion, transcoding, shared storage and ENG equipment.

Interalmería, the municipal television station of Almería that has just celebrated ten years on the air, has carried out a profound remodeling of its facilities that has involved the modernization of continuity, writing system, MAM, ingestion, transcoding, shared storage and ENG equipment.

The ENG cameras chosen by Interalmería have been the XF205 from Canon with 20x, f/1.8 wide-angle zoom lens that allows you to take shots at long distances. This camcorder with a compact and lightweight design, with a 3-ring lens and rotating handle, has an HD Pro CMOS sensor that allows you to work in low light conditions even in low light.

The heart of the new facility is based on solutions of VSN. The continuity system is based on VSN OneTV (SD/HD) with the IP module for distribution of streaming signals on the Internet. For MAM/PAM, the project has involved the adoption of VSN Explorer along with the Nearline VSNExplorer module that adds sending capacity to the LTO system for archiving. This workflow is completed with the system with a transcoding module to generate low resolution files.

In terms of storage, the option has been the system You are easy Terrablock 8D with capacity for 32 TB.

In the central services part, the VSNSpider system was integrated with a transcoding module (VSN Worker) and a total of ten licenses have been deployed for journalist positions equipped with VSN News and VSN Explorer Terminal that allows editors to retrieve content directly or record the media on the different servers (continuity, production, news...). Thanks to this configuration, journalists and editors can directly catalog content.

The remodeling of the municipal television has also included a dual-channel SD/HD news server for the studio and an advanced VSN-CG2001 graphics generator with template editing plug-in.

The installation in the video part has been carried out with signals with audio embedded with solutions of AJA.

This project was awarded through public tender to Sinopsys Distribución Integral (SDI) which has been in charge of engineering, installation, commissioning and training of personnel.
