The morning magazine 'Lorraine' from the British ITV improves the management of live viewer participation with audio and video, via Skype, thanks to Quicklink technology.

The production team of the British ITV morning magazine focused on lifestyle, health and entertainment, Lorraine, has decided to prioritize the participation of its audience.

The program presented by Lorraine Kellyy has opened the section Open Surgery from Dr. Hilary Jones to the participation of viewers via Skype.

One of the requirements required by Lorraine's production team was to be able to talk to viewers through the Studio 3 Gallery Talkback system, which was made possible thanks to the Quicklink TX Quad solution from Quicklink.

Quicklink TX Quad allows the production team Loraine Manage call queues with up to four participants calling into a Virtual Waiting Room to speak with Dr. Jones.

Before production, producers send Skype invitations to those who have pre-registered. The team is able to line up collaborators in the Skype TX Controller management interface. ITV's John Barling acknowledges that “being able to professionally manage collaborators in a controlled environment is an important part of our workflow.”

Quicklink TX Quad, designed by Quicklink in collaboration with Microsoft, is a video call management system that enables professional reception and transmission of multiple video calls over Skype using multiple SDI outputs. Quicklink TX Quad supports video and audio over IP as inputs and outputs. Its features also include color correction, HD recording and tally return. The Quicklink TX Quad is also available with 4 channels of analog XLR audio, allowing you to use separate audio channels for each of the four simultaneous calls.

Additionally, this solution features a dual power supply, interchangeable front-loading units, and system monitoring with alert notification via SMS, SNMP, and email.
