The Bernabéu launches Intel 360 Replay technology for 360º replays
After its installation at the Camp Nou, the Santiago Bernabéu stadium launches the 3D replay system on the occasion of the broadcast of the match between Real Madrid and Real Sociedad.
With the intention of offering the spectator the best possible view of a football match, LaLiga has permanently installed a total of 38 cameras in the Santiago Bernabéu stadium that allow 360º replays to be offered thanks to technology. The installation of these cameras is already a reality at the Camp Nou, which was launched on December 3 during El Clásico between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid CF.
The system has now been debuted at the Bernabéu coinciding with the match between Real Madrid CF and Real Sociedad.
This commitment to high technology has made LaLiga the first European football competition to permanently implement this innovative system in one of its stadiums, thus joining other sports such as the NFL, the NBA or the MLB.
As Melcior Soler, director of LaLiga's Audiovisual department, explained during the official presentation of this system, the objective is to develop the way of enjoying the matches to the maximum. "Intel's 360º technology, as well as the innovations implemented by LaLiga through the Television Broadcasting Regulations, aim to improve the audiovisual perception of football matches. This work is the basis for the value of audiovisual rights to continue increasing," he commented.
This immersive Intel 360 Replay technology uses 5K high-definition cameras that generate replays that add extra quality to the broadcasts so that viewers receive a unique vision of the game. The 2D videos from each of the 38 cameras installed in the stadium are processed thanks to powerful Intel servers that allow repetition from any position and angle.
