Ramón Salazar begins filming 'The Sunday Disease'
The director and screenwriter is at the helm of this Zeta Cinema and On Cinema project that will be filmed over six weeks.
Starting next Monday, February 20, and over six weeks, the filming of Sunday's illness, by Ramón Salazar, director and screenwriter of the feature films 10,000 nights nowhere, 20 centimeters y Piedras (for which he received a Goya nomination for Best New Director and participated in the Official Section of the 2002 Berlinale), and screenwriter of the hits Three meters above the sky y I want you, for which he was nominated for the Goya for Best Adapted Screenplay.
The film is produced by Zeta Cinema and On Cinema 2017, has a budget of 1,850,000 euros and with the collaboration of TVE, TV3, ICAA, ICEC and ICO.
Sunday's illness will be filmed in Barcelona, Paris and other locations in Catalonia and France. It stars Barbara Lennie (Magical Girl which earned her the Goya for Best Actress, Maria and the others, The Child u Obaba for which he also received nominations) and Susi Sánchez (10,000 nights nowhere for which she was nominated for the Goya for Best Supporting Actress, Juliet, The skin I live in).
Salazar points out that “after 10,000 nights nowhere What was clear to me was that the next film would have Susi Sánchez as the protagonist. I also wanted to be able to enjoy an intense job reduced to two actresses, so the script was based on that need for the intimate and feminine. The addition of Barbara Lennie to the leading duo made my deepest creative desires come true. Working hand in hand with the actor is my great passion.”
The photography of this film that addresses the limits of the human being, physical and emotional in the face of the sensation that a Sunday afternoon produces, will be carried out by Ricardo de Gracia (10,000 nights nowhere, The subtle worlds). The art director will be Sylvia Steinbrecht (Now or Never, Three Too Many Weddings, Biutiful) while Clara Bilbao will coordinate the costumes (Nobody wants the night, Blackthorn for which he won the Goya).
In the editing room will be Teresa Font (The Furies, The Adoption, and winner of a Goya for days counted). Sunday's illness will be distributed by Caramel Films.
