'Moonlight' wins the Oscar for best film after a grotesque end to the ceremony

La película de Barry Jenkins se lleva el Óscar a la mejor película a pesar de que, por error, Warren Beatty y Faye Dunaway habían otorgado el premio a ‘La, La, Land’.

Parece que el esperpento comienza a hacerse fuerte en Estados Unidos y en la nueva era Trump (quien, por cierto, “contraprogramó” el acto de anoche con una cena de gala para los Gobernadores en La Casa Blanca) los Óscars no han querido quedarse atrás.

Tras anunciar Warren Beatty y Faye Dunaway que el Óscar a la mejor película iba a parar a La, La, Land la euforia de los premiados duró apenas unos segundos. Unos subrrealistas y largos segundos que pasarán a la historia.

Ante la sorpresa de todos, el productor de La La Land, Jordan Horowitz, interrumpió la gala afirmando tajante que el verdadero ganador era Moonlight. La película de Barry Jenkins se lleva así el Óscar a la mejor película a pesar de la confusión aunque consiguió seis estatuillas (incluido mejor director, mejor actriz para Emma Stone y los premios musicales… muy lejos de las previsiones que auguraban que arrasaría).

Entre estos premios, figura el Óscar a la mejor director para Damien Chazelle, que con 32 años se convierte gracias al musical en el cineasta más joven que logra el preciado galardón.

The best original screenplay went to Manchester under the sea and the best adapted script for Moonlight. The best non-English speaking film has been The Traveler, by Iranian director Asghar Farhadi.

Technical categories

As for the technical categories, the Oscar for best photography went to the Swede Linus Sandgren (American Hustle, Joy… ) for his work in La, La, Land. In editing, scholars recognized the work of John Gilbert.
