SES restructures its organization into two divisions: SES Video and SES Networks
SES Vídeo will focus on the video segment while SES Networks will focus on enterprise, mobility, and government.
The board of directors of the satellite operator SES has approved a restructuring of the company that will now have two business units: SES Video, focused on the video segment, and SES Networks, focused on businesses, mobility, and government.
Romain Bausch, Chairman of the Board of Directors of SES, recognizes that "this new structure will allow SES to accelerate the execution of its market-focused strategy and concentrate its differentiated capabilities within each community to best serve its customers globally. By expanding its core capabilities, SES demonstrates strategic and forward-looking determination, bringing the best of SES to each of the customers we serve around the world. The new operating model will allow the company to take full advantage of the capabilities of its affiliates, MX1 and O3b, in which we have recently made significant investments, and make them a key element of our video-focused and data-focused businesses, respectively.”
This reorganization also includes a series of changes in the company's leadership. The former CEO of SES Astra and since 2011 commercial director of SES, Ferdinand Kayser, has been appointed CEO of SES Video; while Steve Collar, currently CEO of O3b Networks, will serve as CEO of SES Networks. Both will report to Karim Michel Sabbagh, president and CEO of SES.
Completing the management structure are CFO Padraig McCarthy; Christophe De Hauwer, Director of Strategy and Development; Martin Halliwell, chief technology officer; Evie Roos, director of human resources; and John Purvis, heading the legal department.
