Netflix premieres the Spanish-Mexican co-production 'El Elegido' worldwide

Directed by Antonio Chavarrías, it is co-produced by Oberon Cinematogràfica, Alebrije Producciones and The Chosen 2015.

The Chosen One

The Netflix platform will premiere worldwide The Chosen next April 14. The film will reach all subscribers and will be available to viewers in more than 190 countries.

The Chosen One, directed by Antonio Chavarrías, tells the story of Ramón Mercader, the Spaniard who was captured by the Soviet secret services and sent to Mexico to carry out an order from Stalin, to assassinate León Trotsky.

Starring Alfonso Herrera, Hannh Murray and Henry Goodman, and also featuring the participation of Julian Sands, Elvira Mínguez, Roger Casamajor and Emilio Echavarría, the film is a co-production between Spain and Mexico shot in both countries in 2016.

The film is produced by Oberon Cinematogràfica, Alebrije Producciones and The Chosen 2015 with the participation of RTVE, Televisió de Catalunya, and the collaboration of ICAA, ICEC, FIDECINE and the support for the development of Media Creativa and the Ibermedia Program. Filmax is in charge of its international distribution.
