VAV moved its UM 21 4K to the headquarters of the Atresmedia group in San Sebastián de los Reyes to provide reception and signal processing service in Ultra High Definition from Cardiff where the Champions League final between Real Madrid and Juventus was held last Saturday. This mobile unit served as a 4K continuity control for the reception of all signals and subsequent processing for the broadcast of the Champions League final program in 4K.

VAV ChampionsFor the first time, Atresmedia broadcast a match of this magnitude in 4K from the Antena 3 website. Through a special viewer enabled on its website for this match. On the other hand, thanks to the collaboration between Atresmedia and Cellnex, the match could also be followed experimentally, in 4K resolution through DTT in three points in Spain: Madrid, Barcelona and Seville.

The improvements in modulation and coding applied to this transmission made it possible to broadcast in DTT with a 4K resolution (3840 x 2160 pixels), which allowed viewers to watch the Champions League final with 4 times more pixels than the HD broadcast.
