Russian National Radio and Television VGTRK installs AEQ Phoenix IP audiocodecs
After installing the BC2000D audio routers and the Arena, Forum and Capitol consoles, VGTRK now expands its link systems with IP audiocodecs from AEQ's Phoenix family.
VGTRK (ВГТРК), the Russian public broadcaster that manages five radio stations, several television channels, a digital television platform and video on demand services, in 2010 began the installation of its central station and its regional stations based on central audio routing systems AEQ BC2000D and the Arena, Forum and Capitol digital tables from the Spanish manufacturer in more than two hundred radio studios in sixty-two cities throughout the country.
Now, it has renewed that commitment to AEQ by acquiring numerous IP audiocodecs from the AEQ Phoenix family, the Stratos and Venus models for the main links and AEQ Mercury for secondary links. These AEQ Phoenix units are installed distributed throughout the country, but controlled centrally from the VGTRK headquarters in Moscow, thanks to the AEQ PhoenixControl remote control and configuration software.
Regardless of whether you are operating a point-to-point connection or a codec network for a set of stations, with PhoenixControl audiocodec management software you have complete control. The control application allows you to discover all the Phoenix Mercury, Phoenix Venus and Phoenix Studio devices on a local network to control them in coordination from a PC or group of PCs. Remote devices can also be controlled via the Internet, thus allowing comprehensive management of the communications network.
The entire project has been coordinated by the technical director of VGTRK, Andrew Kozlov, in coordination with the technical services of AEQ Kroma in Madrid and the installation department of TRACT, AEQ's local partner in Russia.
