Mediapro goes one step further in innovation in its LaLiga broadcasts
One of the main novelties will be the production of up to two matches per day in 4K quality, the expansion of the aerial signal to nine stadiums and the installation of Intel's 360º replays in the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium and the new Wanda Metropolitano.
The commitment to maximum quality in sports broadcasts will continue to be a priority for LaLiga during the 2017-2018 season. With the help of Mediapro, LaLiga's official producer, the broadcasts will go one step further, taking LaLiga Santander fans to experience the matches in maximum detail. LaLiga, a pioneer in its commitment to the highest technology in broadcasting, will present, during the campaign that has just begun, new developments in terms of the execution of matches, audiovisual content and work with the LaLiga Santander and LaLiga 1l2l3 clubs.
One of the main novelties will be the production of up to two matches per day in 4K quality, with all FC Barcelona and Real Madrid matches being available in this format. Also this season, three more stadiums will be equipped with a permanent aerial camera installation (Estadio La Rosaleda (Málaga CF), RCDE Stadium (RCD Espanyol) and Estadio Benito Villamarín (Real Betis Balompié), bringing the number to nine in total and making LaLiga the only competition to have these cameras in so many venues. In addition, the new addition of the corner positions of the high-speed cameras will allow filmmakers to capture the best actions for super slow motion replays.
Last season, LaLiga became the first football competition to offer Intel 360º replays in its match signal. The innovative installation at the Camp Nou and the Santiago Bernabéu made both stadiums the first in Europe with this technology. This season, LaLiga goes one step further and will install two new systems at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium and the Wanda Metropolitano.
To provide something extra to the broadcasts, all available tracking data and analysis will be used to offer statistics that improve the experience of watching a LaLiga match. Performance data and live 3D graphics (provided by ChyronHego) will offer more information to understand all the details of what is happening in the field. In addition, for the first time the LaLiga Santander and LaLiga 1l2l3 teams will display unified names and numbers on their shirts, with an exclusive design for LaLiga that will allow fans to identify the players.
More exclusive content
LaLiga will also make an interesting commitment to exclusive television content for its broadcasters. Since last August 2017, LaLiga began to distribute a full HD television channel around the world with programming throughout the day dedicated to LaLiga. This channel includes narration in English and Spanish, as well as a full script and an ambient audio track.
As the main novelty this season, LaLiga will produce a live set program entirely in English around the matchday. Presented by Simon Hanley, who will be joined by two analysts, the program will preview the matchday before the first match begins.
Finally, each LaLiga Santander and LaLiga 1l2l3 stadium will be equipped with an automatically controlled tactical camera from this season to follow the game and offer a live tactical plan to all the team analysts. The signal produced by these cameras can be analyzed in real time in stadiums, as well as by streaming from anywhere. A solution so that analysts can have all the information in a comfortable and uniform way.
