BIT Experience puts radio spectrum management on the table

A round table in which Luis Sahún (SES), Miguel Ángel García Argüelles (FENITEL), the consultant Eladio Gutiérrez and the jurists Alejandro Touriño (Écija Abogados) and José Manuel Villar (Villar Arregui Abogados) will participate will debate the current and future use of the radio spectrum.

One of the hot topics in the sector is the impact of digital spectrum management for broadcasting and telecommunications uses. The countries of the Union have agreed to reallocate the 700 MHz frequency band (694-790 MHz) to wireless broadband services from 2020, reserving the 470-694 MHz band for broadcasting at least until 2030.

However, telcos continue to claim spectrum to increase services in contrast to the interests of traditional broadcasters.

BIT Experience, the conference that will take place on October 4 and 5 at Feria de Madrid and in which more than forty top-level speakers specialized in audiovisual, digital and multimedia will participate, has planned to hold a round table next Thursday the 5th (12:30 p.m.) to share positions on the present and future use of the digital spectrum.

What impact will the new dividend have for the production and broadcast industry? What interventions will need to be implemented? What role will it play in the future of communications and in the development of alternative distribution platforms? These are some of the topics that will be addressed in a round table by Luis Sahún (SES), Miguel Ángel García Argüelles (FENITEL), the consultant Eladio Gutiérrez and the jurists Alejandro Touriño (Écija Abogados) and José Manuel Villar (Villar Arregui Abogados).
